Annual Closedowns
Employers may elect to close their business at certain times of the year. (Christmas/new year)
If the business is closed, employees will be required to take annual leave during these times.
This leave is counted within the statutory entitlement of 5.6 weeks (28 days for a worker working a five or a six-day week)
It is advised that, where possible, these closedowns are outlined in the employment contract to avoid issues that may arise.
