Labour Relations Agency Tees Off Event on Hiring Seasonal Staff
Employers in the Causeway Coast and Glens area, who plan to hire seasonal staff during the 148th British Open golf tournament, are invited to attend a free event jointly hosted by the Labour Relations Agency (LRA) and local Council.
Taking place on Tuesday 12 March from 5.30 – 7.30pm in Portrush Town Hall, the event will offer information on legal requirements and best practice in terms of recruitment, contracts of employment and calculating seasonal workers’ holiday entitlement.
Patrick McAuley, Employment Relations Manager at the LRA’s North West Office, explained: “The LRA works closely with partners in the Council to provide free expertise and resources to support local businesses. We encourage any local employer who will be taking on staff during busier tourism and sporting seasons to come along with any questions they have. The LRA team will provide information and templates that employers can easily implement or modify to suit their needs. Our team can also put employers’ minds at ease in terms of meeting legal requirements and best practice employment relations.”
Causeway Coast and Glens Council will also provide information on its various programmes and initiatives to support small businesses in the area, while representatives from the local Jobs and Benefits Office will offer assistance to employers in terms of advertising and interviewing staff.
