Labour Relations Agency Certificate in Effective Line Management Practice
The Labour Relations Agency is pleased to offer the first public 2022 programme of the Certificate in Effective Line Management Practice.
The certificate is suitable for anyone with line management responsibilities; it aims to equip line managers with the knowledge and skills to confidently deal with any staffing issues which may arise, from how to have difficult conversations through to conducting robust and thorough workplace investigations. As such the focus of the Certificate in Effective Line Management Practice is much more on skills development, rather than employment legislation or statutory rights and responsibilities.
The Labour Relations Agency has been running this public programme since January 2018 and it has proved extremely popular and effective, with 100% of the most recent cohort of managers reporting that they have applied the skills acquired when they returned to the workplace.
Description
The 9-week programme will be delivered entirely online – a mix of pre-recorded webinars (facilitated via GoToWebinar) and live Q&A sessions (facilitated via Zoom). Participants will be required to view the webinar in advance and then participate fully in the follow-up Q&A sessions which will explore the key themes, learning points and their application in more detail. While there is no formal method of assessment, the final week case study will assess the participants’ learning through a scenario which evolves throughout the session.
The total time requirement is approximately 3 hours per week. The Certificate is delivered free of charge.
Places are limited to 25 participants, a maximum of 3 people per organisation can register. We reserve the right to restrict places if this is exceeded.
We will operate a limited reserve list.
Please contact us at the earliest possible opportunity if you are unable to attend. Our events are frequently oversubscribed and this will enable us to reallocate your place to other customers.
We seek to continuously develop and improve our events. All participants will be asked to complete a short survey at the end of the programme. The survey should take no longer than 5-10 minutes of your time to complete and return. We would really welcome your feedback.
